SUSAN IBEKWE

VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS

My name is Sussan Ihuoma Ibekwe. I am a dedicated wife, proud mother of four wonderful children, a compassionate caregiver, and a woman deeply committed to service. I come from a devout Christian family of eight and am the sixth child of my parents. I completed my primary, secondary, and tertiary education, during which I developed a strong interest in leadership, responsibility, and service. In high school, I served as Vice Prefect and Sanitary Prefect, and in college, I held the position of Treasurer of the Student Union. These roles strengthened my commitment to leadership, teamwork, accountability, and community engagement. I currently work at the Center of Behavioral Medicine, where I continue to deepen my passion for caring for and supporting individuals. I believe that meaningful impact can begin with simple acts such as listening, demonstrating compassion, offering encouragement, and affirming the dignity and worth of others. Outside of my professional responsibilities, I am family-oriented and enjoy cooking and dancing. My roles as a wife and mother have instilled in me patience, resilience, responsibility, sacrifice, and the importance of fostering an environment where others feel valued and supported. My Passion for Women In Development I am passionate about helping women recognize their worth, unlock their potential, build confidence, and pursue their aspirations. I firmly believe that every woman has valuable contributions to make to her family, community, and society, regardless of her background or circumstances. As the Elected Vice President of Women In Development, I aim to leverage my leadership experience, compassion, and dedication to service to inspire and uplift women, particularly those who may feel overlooked, discouraged, or uncertain about their future. What I Can Offer to Society I am committed to contributing through mentorship, community outreach, education, encouragement, and advocacy. My goal is to help create safe and supportive spaces where women feel heard, valued, and empowered to grow both personally and professionally. Above all, I seek to remind women that empowerment is not only about personal advancement, but also about uplifting others as we rise. My mission is simple: to serve, inspire, empower, and create meaningful impact, one woman, one family, and one community at a time.
